Hi there, Sarah here! I'm
Josephine's favorite daughter. 😉 I live in North Alabama with my
husband Nick. We just recently celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.
We have two beautiful daughters, Whitney is 5 years old and Sydney is 10
months old.
Since Whitney is getting to the age where she likes
to help with everything, I've been putting her to work in the kitchen
and doing chores around the house. She is my big helper especially when
it comes to taking care of her baby sister. Helping me with laundry,
cleaning her room, emptying the dishwasher. Learning how to cook has
been a fun time as well! This evening we made Creamy Italian Asparagus!
It was so delicious and she did such a good job.
Children
are like sponges, they love to help, they love to learn, and they love
to feel your appreciation. If you are looking for something fun to do
with your littles, get in the kitchen, make some cookies, find an easy
recipe like this one that they can help out with. They might even try
the dreaded vegetable cause THEY helped make it!
Here is our fun recipe we made for supper.
Creamy Italian Asparagus ~
Here
are the things you will need. Tip: I like to get everything out first
then call Whitney into the kitchen so she isn't standing there losing
interest while I gather ingredients.
I get her to work washing the asparagus and teach her the importance of cleaning the food first.
Then she got to work with the cheesy goodness sauce! This obviously takes great concentration!
For
our Italian seasonings I love to use Tastefully Simple (I am not a
distributor, I just love their products). So if you have never tried
them, find someone you know who sells it and try some out! But really
any Italian seasoning will work great.
We don't really measure this part, you can never put to much! Just eyeball it.
Next
for specialty cheese, any brand of Asiago cheese will work but I really
like this brand. I, of course, do the shredding of the cheese and she
entertains herself with singing into the whisk her favorite Disney
songs.
Mixing all the cheesy goodness together means it's almost time for this yummy dish to go into the oven!
The asparagus go into the baking dish and then smothered with cheese sauce!
This bad boy bakes for 20 minutes with it's ready to be gobbled up!
Yes, It's amazing! Go make it!
