Home Made Whole Wheat Bread

A few years back I did this post on how I make my Whole Wheat Bread. Since I've taken up Blogging again, I thought I'd re-share my recipe with y'all. I'm also reusing these pictures that I took a few years back before I moved back down to Louisiana.
This is my Wheat Grinder. It's called a Whisper Mill. YES, I actually grind my own wheat flour. I buy it in 50 lb. sacks and vacuum seal it in 2 cup portions.

This is my Whisper Mill grinding my whole wheat kernels into flour. Wheat kernels should be ground just before making bread. If ground ahead of time, it looses it's potency. The wheat flour is in the pan on the right.
I get all of my ingredients ready so I'm not having to run to the pantry in the middle of stirring something.
This is my heavy duty mixer. It's called a Bosh. It's even more powerful than a Kitchen Aid.

My Recipe begins with:
Put 2 Tablespoons Yeast
2 1/2 Cups Warm Water &
1 Cup Honey in your mixer mixing bowl.
Stir with a Hand Wisp just until ingredients are mixed together. Let this Sit for 15 minutes undisturbed, Until it looks like this.
Next you'll need to add:
1 Egg
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons Wheat Glutton
7 Cups Whole Wheat Flour (Add a Cup At A Time)
Mix for 8-10 Minutes
The Bread Dough is Ready when it looks like this.
Cut the dough into 2 portions
And then shape those portions into loaf shapes.
Spray your Glass Bread baking dishes and put a portion into the dishes.
I highly recommend using GLASS dishes. From using both Glass and Tin, I find that the Bread Rises, and Bakes a LOT better in glass. So does cakes.
You can allow the dough to rise in a warm place OR you can just pop it into the oven at 340 degrees for 30 minutes. With this recipe I don't give it time to rise.
I just pop it into the oven and as you can see from the pictures, it rises really good.
At the end of 30 minutes I take my Bread out of the oven and it's a Beautiful Golden Brown. If you find that your bread is not quite baked enough, you can leave it in longer. Not all ovens cook the same. I set my oven temperature at 340 degrees cause I find that my oven bakes this bread recipe better than the 350 degree oven that the recipe actually calls for.
Next, Slice off a BIG chunk and lather it with some fresh homemade butter and Enjoy with a glass of milk.
 Till next time 💕
